Horror Movie Poster Analysis

  1. EBI - Make sure you fully explain your points. You state that certain feats will make the audience want to watch the film - but why? Why does that particular feature persuade the target market successfully? You need to explain.
You state on the Amityville Horror poster that the 'kach em and kill em' suggests violence - how? Why? You state that the newspaper article provides a hint for the audience? What hint? Make sure you fully explain your points.
Focus on the background in the pictures too - particularly the Amityville horror poster - why the old house? Why is it so tall? Consider how it makes the man look very small. Why is there a sense of the picture being torn in two to reveal the house? Why is it so dark and cloudy?
More needed on the strap line - your comment on the Possession strap line for example is very vague - people will remember it when they go home? You need to consider what it is suggesting but also what we learn about the plot from this and how it links to the image.
In terms of Insane - you state that the half a face of a clown will intrigue the audience - how will it? We can see it's a clown so it doesn't really intrigue us; think again about why they are only showing half the face.
Think about how the image links with the title - insane - how does the image suggest this idea? Consider the black background in more detail - it's not just about it being black - it's about the space, the emptiness and why half of the poster has been filled with this blackness and why it is next to the clown?
